Accessible Blog sites or platforms?

Hi there, people.
This is long overdue on my part because I've been meaning to get one started for some time now, but I'm looking to begin a blog soon. I'm not talking live-journal or any such outdated thing, and I'm also not talking about the kind of blog one can have on here if they have a premium account. So...Does anyone have a blog that they can successfully update on their own, with an accessible platform, something that's not to cluttered and complicated, but still has some degree of visual appeal? I'm looking for this to grow into a mainstream blog so I need for it to be user friendly.
Thanks guys.
Looking forward to your responses.

I have good luck using typepad.com for my professional blog. It is very easy to use with lots of design options.

wordpress can be pretty useful if all you want is a simple blog you can update. as can blogger (google's blogging service).

Alternatively, if you have a little knowhow, you can set up your own website. you'd only need a small hosting package providing you wern't planning on streaming audio and vidio and the like. There are plenty of blogging scripts you can install to help you get started (wordpress has scripts, but i'm unsure on the accessibility of later versions). And there are plenty of sited people around who can help you with designing the theme and look of your website if you know where to look.

I personally love Dreamwidth. it's very user friendly/accessible, with no clutter.
